Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
