Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
