The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
