▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
There are two gardens for one who fears standing before his Lord. 46 which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 47 (Gardens) with many branches. 48 Which of your Lord's favours will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 49 In which, will be two fountains running. 50 Which of your Lord's favours will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 51 In which are fruits of all kinds, each of two varieties. 52 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 53 Reclining upon thrones that are lined with brocade, with the fruit of both Gardens close enough to be picked from under. 54 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 55 In the midst of these shall be maidens with modest, restrained glances; maidens whom no man or jinn has ever touched before. 56 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 57 As (lovely as) rubies and as (beautiful as) coral. 58 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 59 Is there any Reward for Good - other than Good? 60 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 61 And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,- 62 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 63 green, green pastures -- 64 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 65 In [each of] these two [gardens] will two springs gush forth. 66 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 67 In both of them will be [all kinds of] fruit, and date-palms and pomegranates. 68 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 69 Therein (gardens) will be fair (wives) good and beautiful; 70 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - 71 Fair ones, close-guarded in pavilions - 72 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 73 Untouched before them by man or jinni - 74 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 75 Reclining upon cushions green and carpets beauteous. 76 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 77 Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. 78
