The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins. 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
