Al-Haaqqah 2 of 2
But nay! I swear by that which you see, 38 And that which you do not see. 39 That this is verily the word of an honoured Messenger [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel) or Muhammad SAW which he has brought from Allah]. 40 It is not the word of a poet but only a few of you have faith, 41 Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you mind. 42 It is a revelation sent down by the Sustainer of the Universe: 43 Had he attributed falsely any words to Us, 44 We would indeed have seized him by his right hand 45 and then severed his life vein; 46 and none of you could have saved him! 47 And indeed this Qur’an is an advice for the pious. 48 And behold, well do We know that among you are such as will give the lie to it: 49 Surely it is a sorrow to the unbelievers; 50 yet indeed it is the truth of certainty. 51 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 52
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
