Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them. 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 "But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth). 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 "So I have called to them aloud; 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
