Noah (Nooh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 and, behold I preached to them in public; and I spoke to them secretly, in private; 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, 15 and made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp, 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
