Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 which guides to the right path; so we have believed in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord, 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. 10 Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. 11 We have realized that we could never thwart God on earth and that we would never be able to thwart Him by flight. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Quran, and practice not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter in a severe torment (i.e. Hell). 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
