Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
