Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
