The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that blow gently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
