The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
