He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 you attend to him, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and who has fear of God, 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 Not this way – this is the advice. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 May man be slain – how ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 his wife and his sons: 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
