The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 by the Promised Day, 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 They sat by it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
