Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
