The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
