The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
