The Pharaoh and his people had also received Our warning, 41 they, too, gave the lie to all Our messages: and thereupon We took them to task as only the Almighty, who determines all things, can take to task. 42 ARE, THEN, those of you who [now] deny the truth better than those others - or have you, perchance, [been promised] immunity in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom? 43 Or do they say: We are a host allied together to help each other? 44 The hosts shall soon be routed and they shall be put to flight. 45 Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter. 46 The sinful ones will face the destructive torment of hell 47 The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!" 48 Surely We have created everything according to a measure. 49 And Our commandment is but one (commandment), as the twinkling of an eye. 50 We have indeed destroyed many a people like you. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 51 And every thing they did is in the scriptures, 52 And everything, small and great, hath been written down. 53 Indeed the pious are amidst Gardens and springs. 54 In a seat of truth (i.e. Paradise), near the Omnipotent King (Allah, the All-Blessed, the Most High, the Owner of Majesty and Honour). 55
