'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me, from my household, someone who will help me bear my burden - 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Strengthen me through him 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that we exalt You 33 "And remember You much, 34 Surely You know us well." 35 The Lord said, "Moses, your request is granted. 36 It is the second time that We have bestowed upon you Our favor. 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 Recall when your sister walked along and said, "Shall I guide you to one who will take care of him?" Thus We returned you to your mother, so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve. And you killed a man and We delivered you from sorrow. We tested you with various trials. You stayed for a number of years among the people of Midian, then you came upto the standard, Moses. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 Answered He: "Fear not! Verily, I shall be with you two, hearing and seeing [all]. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 He said: who is the Lord of you twain, O Musa! 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 HE IT IS who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has traced out for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, and [who] sends down waters from the sky: and by this means We bring forth various kinds of plants. 53 You eat and let your cattle graze' Surely, in this there are signs for those of understanding. 54
