And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 “And forgive my father* he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
