Al-Najm 3 of 3
Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
