The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
