The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Issuing from the pelvis between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Therefore give them some respite - give them some time. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
