۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 and say, 'What, are our gods better, or he?' They cite not him to thee, save to dispute;. nay, but they are a people contentious. 58 He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 And let not Satan turn you aside. Lo! he is an open enemy for you. 62 When Jesus came with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), he said: I have come unto you with wisdom, and to make plain some of that concerning which ye differ. So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 63 Allah is my Lord and your Lord; therefore, serve Him. That is the Straight Way.” 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour that it shall come upon them suddenly, while they perceive not? 66 On that Day, [erstwhile] friends will be foes unto one another - [all] save the God-conscious. 67
