The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the mount 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 by the House inhabited 4 and the roof uplifted 5 And the swollen sea, 6 surely thy Lord's chastisement is about to fall; 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is this magic, or is it that you do not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
