The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
