The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
