The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
