Al-Zukhruf 4 of 7

Whoso blinds himself to the Remembrance of the All-merciful, to him We assign a Satan for comrade; 36 whereupon, behold, these [evil impulses] bar all such from the path [of truth,] making them think that they are guided aright! 37 Until when he comes to Us, he says: O would that between me and you there were the distance of the East and the West; so evil is the associate! 38 It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin) in the punishment. 39 Can you, (O Prophet), then make the deaf hear, or direct to the Right Way the blind or one lost in manifest error? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 Rather We will certainly show you that which We have promised them; for surely We are the possessors of full power over them. 42 So, hold fast to the Book that has been revealed to you, you are surely on the right path, 43 The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. 44 Ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before you, "Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent One?" 45
