And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
