The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
