The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
