The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
