Al-nahl 2 of 16
It is He who sends down water from the sky of which you drink, and which nourishes the plants you feed your cattle, 10 He groweth for you thereby the corn and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Verily therein is a sign for a people who ponder. 11 And He hath constrained the night and the day and the sun and the moon to be of service unto you, and the stars are made subservient by His command. Lo! herein indeed are portents for people who have sense. 12 On the earth He has fashioned for you objects of various hues: there is certainly a sign in that for people who pay heed. 13 And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 And He placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake along with you, and streams and roads for you to find course. 15 and He has set other landmarks in the earth. And by the stars too do people find their way. 16 Is there one who createth like unto one who createth not? Will ye not then be admonished? 17 If you count the favors of Allah, you could not number them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and the Most Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you do openly. 19 Now those beings that some people invoke beside God cannot create anything, since they themselves are but created: 20 They are dead, not alive; and they do not know when will the people be raised. 21

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
