Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
