Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
