The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By heaven of the constellations, 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
