The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
