۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 They found their father going astray 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
