And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
