The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heavens with constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 When they sat by it, 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
