The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you enveloped in your cloak! 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 purify your garments; 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave to Me the one, whom I have created all by Myself, 11 And give him vast riches, 12 And sons present by his side. 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then looked he, 21 frowned and scowled; 22 then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
