In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 "Behold, [although] I have willed to keep it hidden, the Last Hour is bound to come, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with what he strove for [in life]. 15 Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, and with it, I beat down the leaves for my flock; I also have other uses for it." 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 Moses threw it on the ground and suddenly he saw that it was a moving serpent. 20 [Allah] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition. 21 "Now - as another Sign - place your hand under your arm and it will come out sheer white without harm (or stain). 22 This We have done to show you some of Our greater miracles. 23 "[And now] go thou unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity. 24
