The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
