The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
