The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
