3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
