Indeed, We sent Noah to his nation, and he lived amongst them for a thousand years, less fifty (but they belied him), then the Flood seized them while they were harmdoers. 14 Then We delivered him and those in the ark, and made it a sign unto the worlds. 15 And Abraham, [too, was inspired by Us] when he said unto his people: "Worship God, and be conscious of Him: this is the best for you, if you but knew it! 16 Those that you worship instead of Allah are merely idols, and you are simply inventing lies (about them). Indeed those whom you worship beside Allah have no power to provide you with any sustenance. So seek your sustenance from Allah and serve only Him and give thanks to Him alone. It is to Him that you will be sent back. 17 If you belie me, other nations before you also belied. It is only for a Messenger to deliver the clear deliverance. 18 Are then they [who deny the truth] not aware of how God creates [life] in the first instance, and then brings it forth anew? This, verily, is easy for God! 19 Say: 'Travel in the land and see how He started the Creation. Then Allah will originate the Everlasting Life. Allah has power over all things. 20 "He punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned. 21 And ye cannot escape in the earth nor in the heaven, and beside Allah there is for you no friend nor helper. 22
