Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 Who know what you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
