Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 To send down upon them stones of clay, 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
